Longtime friend of Intensive Heart Ventures staff, Josue Vasquez was diagnosed with with Amyotrophic Later Sclerosis (ALS or "Lou Gherig's Disease").

Though he has lost his ability to walk and talk in the usual fashion, Josue continues to make an impact in his community, by developing and leading projects for children such as "Aventuras de Corazon: (Adventures of the Heart). A former professional musician, Josue has just recorded a CD and had an article written about his amazing life experiences.

He is a man with a powerful story and an incredible will to love, despite a debilitating disease. Josue is currently working on a community center that would provide sports recreations, counseling, and a fully functional soup line to members of his community.

He is also able to write and document some of his amazing experiences and obstacles as he continues to work on his community outreach projects.

Intensive Heart Ventures purchased and implemented a computer generated vocal recognition system for Josue Vasquez. With an attached laser headpiece which acts as a "mouse", Josue can designate words for communication through speech producing software.
