KEY PROGRAMS / GOALS
Victims of Abuse & At Risk Rescue Programs
IHV focuses on at risk youth and women. Poverty brings about desperation. Cruel oppressors take advantage of that desperation, leading children and women into forced labor, drug trading, prostitution and human trafficking. All IHV programs provide first opportunity to victims and potential victims of this oppression and abuse. Through our community outreach, sports programs and community surveys, IHV identifies, rescues, supports and provides bridges to freedom and self-sustenance and quality of life.
Community Development Projects
IHV conducts formal Community Demographic Surveys and works at a grass roots level to identify community needs and thereafter services including House Building, Home Repairs, School Improvements, Medical Assistance, Single Mothers Support, Widows Support, and Food for Poor. It is through the Community Development Projects that victims and at risk youth and women are identified for target services.
Scholarship Program
Through IHV’s community outreach projects, youth are identified in the most impoverished areas and supported through a scholarship fund. This fund empowers youth to opportunities through high school and university. Read about some of the students.
Micro Enterprise Program
Using the results of community and economic surveys, IHV develops small businesses with an emphasis on conservation. Cooperatives are formed and owned by the participants. IHV guides socio-economically hindered and oppressed peoples in the development and management of a wide range of micro-enterprises from restaurants and small hotels to tourism, industrial trades and fishing. Read more about the micro-enterprise cooperatives.
Vocational Training and Employment Placement Programs
IHV’s Academy of Conservation and Eco-Tourism provides the core environment to accomplish the goal of “Employment and Conservation”. The Academy is designed to provide vocational training and employment opportunities for the indigenous peoples. The mission is twofold: fulfilling the industry needs for a qualified and skilled workforce who will also carry with them the expert knowledge in conservation of land and marine eco-cultures.
Conservation Programs
IHV manages reforestation projects, recycling projects, marine clean up and protection and general conservation education. IHV in coordination with all ALLIANCES incorporates and leads conservation and ecology programs. All program participants are educated about the sensitive nature of land and sea. From basic education, small business development and vocational training, critical aspects of managing and protecting the environment are emphasized and taught. Certain micro-enterprises are now being developed incorporating recyclables as core materials.
The Mentor Project
IHV’s Mentor project offers life guidance, support and counseling. The mission of this program is to “practify” critical thinking skills for life choices and support youth through the sharing of wisdom developed from the cumulative life experiences of members from one to the other.
